Off to Scotland

So it's Monday. I leave for Scotland on Wednesday. That's just two short days away. That's insane. I have no idea how it happened so fast. It feels like yesterday that I was tentatively making plans to WWOOF at Craigencalt Farm in Kinghorn. And yet...here it is. Just two days away.

This will be the first time that I will overseas by my self. Which is very exciting, but also slightly nerve wracking. I have dreamt of going off on some adventurous trip to some cool new land for a while. There's nothing I love more than travel, but the idea of going alone is totally new to me. It's not the airport or the plane that makes me nervous; I've done that zillions of times, but always with other people. I'm worried I won't be able to navigate it on my own. But I know that I must just trust in myself and have fun. (And that philosophy can apply to college as well. Hey, this gap year is paying off!)

Anyway, I can hardly believe that on Thursday of this week I will be on a farm in Scotland. It's somewhat intimidating to think that I won't really know what my day to day life will be like. The rational worry wart side of me wonders what  it will be like, where will I sleep, what will I eat? Meanwhile, the spontaneous adventurous hippie side says "Just go with the flow". These past few days as I have been planning, packing, and gathering, it has been a constant battle between this two different sides.

This trip, just like college, is both exciting and scary. It's how one chooses to view it that makes all the difference.

There is a lot to gain from this trip, because when you step out of your comfort zone, you learn who you truly are. And that's just what I have been figuring out during this year and will help me as I approach college.

I am excited though and I will post as often as possible about the trip and all that good stuff. Thanks for reading!
